André Leiria is young and fairly new to the scene, but that doesn’t stop one from rising quickly when you’re talented.
Hailing from Olhão, a fishing village in the South of Portugal, André moved to Lisbon to pursue his studies and quickly ended up connecting with the crew at local shop Carpet & Snares Records. It was there where he cut his teeth, quickly rising to prominence both as a DJ and a producer.
His debut EP on the shop’s label features a Steve O’Sullivan remix, a huge influence on him. Other notable references are Daniel Bell, Thomas Melchior, and Ricardo Villalobos.
As a DJ, he tends to lean towards a more deep and minimalistic strain of house, but some rougher techno tracks aren’t uncommon in his sets.
